SAVE OUR STRAYS

FORT BEND

Save Our Strays Fort Bend is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to providing the following services:

Educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering, microchipping and keeping pets fully vaccinated and on heartworm preventative treatment.

Providing temporary foster care for those adoptable animals who have been picked up by certain Fort Bend County animal control facilities and face euthanization after the mandatory 3-day hold period and to place them into permanent, loving and responsible homes.

Working with the citizens and elected officials of Fort Bend County to encourage increasing the county budget for a new state-of-the-art adoption and animal care facility.

Raising much needed funds for vet care services, including spaying and neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and heartworm treatment.

Striving to create a "No-Kill" shelter in Fort Bend County whereby every healthy, adoptable animal has a second chance at finding a loving, new home - it can be done!

PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE CONTACTING OUR GROUP ABOUT FOUND STRAY ANIMALS:

We rescue dogs and cats from Fort Bend County area shelters and we have a small group of volunteers who foster them in their own homes until a new loving home can be found.

If you find a stray, we will do our very best to help you, but due to the overwhelming amount of homeless animals and lack of foster homes for temporary care, we unfortunately aren't able to help everyone.  You must be willing to foster and help cover their vet expenses before we can accept.

We hope to change things soon and are currently raising funds to open our own adoption facility.  Can you help?  Please make your tax-deductible donation through our Donation page and help us to help more animals in need!

Save Our Strays Fort Bend strives to rescue stray and homeless animals out of the shelter environment and place them into loving and responsible homes.

Each year, about 90% of the animals picked up by Fort Bend County Animal Control are needlessly put to death....we need your help Fort Bend County to help Save Our Strays!
